Poetry at the Albany Library brings poets and poetry lovers together with invited featured readers, followed by an open mic where all can participate. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month, except for July and August.

The series, hosted by Catherine Taylor since 2006, was founded in 2000 by librarian Julie Wilkenstein.

Featured readers range from widely known poets like U.S. Poet Laureate Emeritus Robert Hass, California State Poet Laureate Al Young, Brenda Hillman, Jane Hirschfield, and Gerald Stern, to writers just beginning to publish their work.

Readings reflect a theme or celebrate . . .
